I saw the one and only Pontani Sisters at Corio (337 W. Broadway at Grand Street) when I was in New York. Not many words needed here: it was fantastic!!! Sweet, gracious, adorable...
And a couple of another kind were Trixie Little and the Evil Hate Monkey... they just rocked the show!
If you ever have the chance, go there and have a fabulous night. It's burlesque at it's best.
