Daisy-Honey

A dream of sweet, honey-dripping sunshine and yellow roses on a cold November evening.
Top-pic by Howard Berman, second pic from the wonderful heartwarming TV-series "Pushing Daisies", which is stuffed with crazy ideas, extravagant characters, funny stories, and the most vivid and inspiring range of colors for their costumes and setting.

Karl's Secret Ball

Drawings by Karl Lagerfeld for the British Vogue in December 2008. He imagined a secret ball, an exclusive soiree, hosted by a mysterious Russian lady for her billionaire husband. Elegant people in a mixture of modern high class fashion and turn-of the-century decadence.

Colors And Prints By Basso & Brook

I love Basso & Brook for their colors, their wild candy-sweet prints (they make beautiful prints on sequins) and their playful attitude. Their silhouettes have become much simpler and sharper, good for the wearability, though I prefer their earlier more... voluptuous style.
The three following pictures are from their 2010 collection, and the three afterwards are from their 2008 collection.

Wonderful pieces!!! But somehow the earlier collections had more heat, more power, more fun.

Our Fears In Details - Laurie Lipton's Exrtraordinary Drawings

Laurie Lipton is not only a exceptionally gifted drawer, who creates extremely detailed universes with a stunning play with depth, inbetween light and shadow, but also her issues are remarkable. She pulls out all those personal, secret issues we try to ignore: our fears, our ignorance, our cruelty, our passivity. Here an interview with her in Liverpool, at the opening of her exhibition "Extraordinary Drawings".

More Savage Bohemians

More impressions from the Bohème Sauvage, the society of sophisticated amusement. It's about the chic of the 20's or the glamour of the 30's, 19th century demi-monde meets dandies, burlesque and vaudeville, belle epoque and swing-generation, bandits and connoisseurs dance the night away. There is gambling and a black market for those who like to play, and the green fairy of absinthe brings young and old together.

Something Bohème Sauvage

I went to a costume-ball called Bohème Sauvage in Berlin last weekend. For this party, you have to dress up somehow historical (1880-1940), and this time it was avec masks. I prepared as a flapper girl, inspired by silver-screen stars like the danish actress Asta Nielsen and Clara Bow.
Top pic and this one is Clara Bow
Asta Nielsen
and me...

and here some more flapper-girl inspiration:
