I found this on the blog "(In)decorous Taste", it's out of an essay by Chandler Burr about fragrance. Some really true words about chic in general...

Luca [Turin, perfume critic] once called something chic, and I asked him why, or rather what "chic" was exactly. He sighed and said despairingly, "Chic is the most impossible thing to define." He thought about it. "Luxury is a humorless thing, largely. Chic is all about humor. Which means chic is about intelligence. And there has to be oddness— most luxury is conformist, and chic cannot be. Chic must be polite, but within that it can be as weird as it wants."

Bali Mon Amour

I spent three beautiful weeks on Bali and Lombok. It was amazing!!! I stayed at three wonderful places which I can highly recommend to everyone who is looking for a peaceful pleasant stay without the noise of touristic paths.
The Mu: at the south of Bali, with a breathtaking view on the ocean (last picture).
Via Vacare: peaceful place on Gili Gede (Lombok) with great snorkeling.
Gaia Oasis: if you are looking for a soulful place in heaven... (their web-site doesn't even get close to how stunning that place is). It's located at the north-shore of Bali.
